Police are alerting West Town neighborhood residents of some recent armed robberies in the area.
The robberies took place on Jan. 25 and 27, according to a community alert from police.
The first robbery occurred in the 600 block of North Albany Avenue about 8:25 p.m., while the more recent one took place in the 2400 block of West Rice Street about 11:20 p.m.
In these incidents, victims were approached by two males, who displayed a weapon and took the victims' property by force. Descriptions of the suspects vary, but they generally are described as two black men, between 15 and 25 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-9, between 135-160 pounds.
Anyone who may have information on these robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives, at (312) 747-8380.
