A New York City man has been convicted of killing his pregnant girlfriend and setting her apartment on fire where her toddler also died.
Jimmy Humphrey was convicted Thursday. He faces 50 years to life in prison when he is sentenced March 6.
Prosecutors say he strangled Linda Anderson in her Queens home on July 13, 2010, then torched the apartment to cover up his crime.
Her 2-year-old son was sleeping at the time and was hospitalized but then died from smoke inhalation.
Humphrey was initially charged with arson and assault, but charges were upgraded after the report Anderson was strangled.
Prosecutors initially said he admitted that he shoved the 25-year-old victim, and as she fell she knocked over a candle and nail polish, which set her on fire.
