Delaware Man Shot In Chest After Confronting Burglars

WILMINGTON, Del. -

A 29-year-old Wilmington man was shot in the chest Monday afternoon when police say he confronted two burglars after they entered his home.

The man was taken to Christiana Hospital where police say he is listed in stable condition.

The shooting happened inside of a home on the Unit block of West 24th Street just before 1 p.m.

Police say two burglars, both of which were wearing masks and all dark clothing, were inside of the home attempting to take items when the man approached them.

Police say one of the suspects shot the man and then the two left the home. The suspects were seen heading southbound on N. Tattnall Street.
