DETROIT (WJBK) -
31-year-old Gabriel Lamont Cooper is charged with raping three women, robbing and kidnapping them. Today he went before a judge who would determine if his case would be bound over to trial.
One woman was allegedly raped at her home on Roselawn last month, after meeting Cooper on-line.
Another woman claims she was attacked as she shoveled snow outside her home in December.
A third woman, who was brave enough to show up in court on Monday, says she was just walking home from work, near Fenkell and Tucker back in September, after missing the last bus of the night.
The alleged victim in court, testifying at Monday's hearing: "I called my family to let them know that i missed that bus and i have to walk..."
She spoke to her 13-year-old son, the mother of five assured him she would be home soon. Instead - it's alleged Cooper ran up behind her.
Testimony: "When i heard the feet, I turned around. He was behind me and he grabbed me. I stuck my purse out because i thought he just wanted to rob me."
But that she says was only part of his plan, he cursed at her and he had a weapon...
Testimony: "Do you see this shit, bitch? Or something and he had a knife... a really big knife."
Attorney in court: "Where did he put the knife?
Testimony: "Kind of had it to my neck, kind of like this."
The testimony became emotional, but bravely she told her story to the court. She says he dragged her behind an abandoned car wash and raped her.
Cooper had been accused of rape before, but the case was dropped. He was also a parole absconder, and while out, he was allegedly raping, robbing and kidnapping the most recent victims.
The judge finding ample reason to send the case to trial.
