CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Aldermen Scott Waguespack (32nd), Proco "Joe" Moreno (1st) and John Arena (45th) joined parents to deliver more than 1,000 petition signatures to CPS Headquarters Wednesday.
The petition demands that a Logan Square elementary school remain open, as the district decides which CPS schools to close.
The schools in consideration are locations that are not necessarily utilizing their resources as well as other CPS schools.
CPS chief Barbara Byrd-Bennett and the committee tasked with deciding which schools to close have held public forums where residents, students and parents could voice their opinions regarding the decision.
But ultimately, they will have to submit a decision by March of 2013.
