Michigan State may not have landed one of the top recruiting classes in the country on National Signing Day ...but the Spartans certainly came out looking respectable. The 2013 class is rated 39th overall by Scout.com and 38th by Rivals.com.
Local players to sign with Michigan State include OL Dennis Finley - Cass Tech; LB Jon Reschke - Brother Rice and RB Gerald Holmes - Flint Carman-Ainsworth. MSU received signatures from all 18 of its verbal commitments. Many pundits are writing that the MSU class isn't getting enough credit. Holmes is a physical runner who is drawing comparisons to Le'Veon Bell. Quarterback Damion Terry is being called by some one of the most underrated players in the nation. Reschke and Shane Jones are touted as two of the best linebackers in the country.
This was a relatively small recruiting class for the Spartans. But bigger isn't always better and the impact of several of these recruits on the fortunes of the Spartans could be immediate.
