Nor'Easter To Impact Local Amtrak & Airline Schedules

Posted: Updated:

How will this nasty nor'easter impact travel on the rails and in the skies?

AIR

Airlines at the Philadelphia International Airport are set to run on schedule this morning, but officials say they do expect that to change later on today.  In fact, their website has a 'Winter Weather Advisory' posted for all customers to read.  Click here to visit the airport's website and check your flight.

More than a dozen airlines are waiving flight change costs in anticipation of the storm.    Southwest, United and U.S. Airways are among the carriers that have waived certain change fees.

All travelers are urged to contact their airlines DIRECTLY to check on the status of their flight.

RAILS

The approaching winter storm will heavily impact Amtrak operations in New York and New England throughout the day.

Amtrak is reducing service on its Acela Express and Northeast Regional Routes between New York and Boston.

Southbound service out of Boston and Northbound service out of Penn Station will stop later today.

Northeast corridor service south of New York,  as well as Empire and Keystone Services are not affected.

Passengers who have paid, but choose not to travel, will be refunded.

Click here to visit Amtrak's website for schedules and delays.
