The so-called "Bully Bandit," who is suspecting of robbing as many as eight banks since late November, struck again Monday morning when he hit a west suburban Chase bank branch.
The robbery occurred at 10:30 a.m. at the Chase branch at 6532 W. Cermak Rd. in Berwyn, FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said.
The robber pushed a bank customer to get to the teller window, according to statement from Hyde. He then demanded money, but before the teller could respond, he reached across the counter and grabbed cash the teller was handling for the customer who was pushed.
The robber then fled on foot and was last seen heading west on Cermak. A weapon was displayed but no one was injured, Hyde said.
The suspect was wearing a black hat, gray coat, and had most of his face covered with a black scarf, Hyde said.
The Bully Bandit is believed to have struck about eight other banks, including a PNC Bank branch in Berwyn twice, and several banks on Chicago's West Side.
Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
