The Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, Long Island, reopened Tuesday after it was evacuated and shut down Monday afternoon because of the risk of a roof collapse, according to the Suffolk County police.
A water leak prompted the evacuation because of concern that heavy snow on the roof may cause a collapse.
Eastern Long Island was especially hit hard in the blizzard, getting more than two feet of snow. Some places got 30 inches or more.
Firefighters and police officers responded to the scene. No one was hurt, officials said.
Parts of the roof were covered in 7-foot snow drifts, officials said.
Several stores would remain closed due to damage from the water leak, but more than 140 stores had reopened by Tuesday afternoon, the AP reported.
