Nearly a week after a Downers Grove man disappeared, his family said there has still been no sign of him, and they are growing worried that he may have been the victim of foul play. Bill Foley, 55, left his job in Lombard last Wednesday at 1:00 PM. His family reported him missing when he didn't come home.
Downers Grove police told Foley's brother Jim that there has been no cell phone, bank or credit card activity since then. The last indication of Foley's whereabouts came from a ping on his cell phone at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of I-55 and Rt. 52 near Shorewood.
Jim Foley said he and others searched that area for any sign of Bill's car, but found nothing. Jim Foley said a State Police aerial search of the area also turned up nothing.
The night before he disappeared, Foley has celebrated his daughter's 22nd birthday, and his wife told family members that Bill did not pack any toiletries or take anything with him to indicate he was planning to take off.
Downer's Grove Police told the family that a check of Foley's computers did not shed any light on the case, and there was no indication he had met someone on line.
Foley, a former Marine, is described as 5-foot-7, 195 pounds, with brownish-gray hair and blue eyes.
He is believed to be driving a white 1997 Ford Escort with Illinois license plate 9985772.
Anyone with information on Foley's whereabouts is asked to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600.
