A man was seriously injured Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.
The man was struck by a dark-colored vehicle about 11 p.m. at 83rd Street and Ingleside Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The vehicle fled the scene and was later found by police, Alfaro said, adding that two or three people were taken into custody.
The 21-year-old man hit by the car was taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Alfaro said.
The Chicago Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
