Plans for the 6th annual Detroit River Days festival are in full-swing. The festival will take place June 21-23.
For many, the festival is a kick off to summer on the Detroit International Riverfront. More than 150,000 people attended in 2012. The festival includes live concerts, interactive exhibits, carnival rides, eco-friendly kids' zones, entertainers and sand sculptures.
The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy will also celebrate its 10 year anniversary.
The festival is pet friendly, but dogs must remain on a leash at all times.

According to the Center for Disease Control, it is estimated that 3.5 million children are bitten by dogs each year, and most victims are children under the age of 9.
