A 47-year-old man has been issued a handful of traffic citations from a traffic crash Saturday night in the South Side Marquette Park neighborhood that left two Chicago Police Department officers injured.
The officers were in a police cruiser when the crash occurred about 8:40 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Western Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The officers' injuries did not appear to be life threatening, Alfaro said.
Christopher Slotwinski of Chicago was cited with reckless driving, driving without insurance, driving too fast for conditions, driving on a suspended license, and a misdemeanor DUI charge, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
Both officers as well as the other motorist were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment, according to unconfirmed police dispatch reports. An alcohol container was found in the offender's vehicle, according to the unconfirmed reports.
Traffic court information for Slotwinski was not immediately available Sunday morning.
