330 firearms turned in for LI gun buyback program

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Nassau County police announced a gun buyback program held at a Long Island church brought in 330 firearms on Saturday afternoon.

The buyback program took place at Grace Cathedral International Church in Uniondale.

Most of the weapons turned in were mostly made up of handguns, according to Newsday. 17 assault rifles collected as well.

Anyone who turned in weapons received $100 for rifles, $200 for handguns and $400 for assault rifles.
