Live Blog: Kwame Kilpatrick Trial Jury Watch Day 1

DETROIT -

No notes, no communications from the Jury, and no surprises on the first day of deliberation in the Kilpatrick Inc. Public Corruption trial.  M.L. Elrick will take a look at the make-up of the jury that is even now deciding the fate of Kwame Kilpatrick, Bobby Ferguson, and Bernard Kilpatrick.  M.L. will have that story tonight on Fox 2 News and you can see a complete list on MyFoxDetroit.com.  I'll be back in the Theodore J. Levin Federal Court House in the morning to bring you the latest.

Not a word from the Jury so far today in the Kilpatrick Inc. Public Corruption Trial  but there was a little action going on in U.S. District Judge Stephen Murphy's court room.

A jury found Zayd Allebban guilty on 2 counts of obstruction of justice.  Allebban is a former Wayne County Technology manager that prosecutors claim faked receipts to explain money taken from computer equipment vendor.  The jury found Allebban not guilty on two more charges; conspiracy to obstruct justice and a third obstruction of justice charge.  His boss, Tahir Kazmi, plead guilty bribery charges.

The two top prosecutors in the Kilpatrick Inc. case, Mark Chutkow and Mike Bullotta, were in the gallery as the jury returned the verdict.

All quiet on the 8th floor of the Theodore J. Levin Federal Court House.  So far this morning the jury has not sent out any notes.  M.L. Elrick will take a look at the make-up of the Jury tonight on Fox 2 News.  It's lunch time for the jury now.  We'll stick around and see if anything pops this afternoon.

Good morning on Day 1 of Jury Watch for the Kilpatrick Inc. Public Corruption Trial.  The Jury starts deliberations this morning.  M.L. Elrick and I will let you know if the Jury asks to see specific evidence, calls for transcripts, or even places a  special order for lunch.  (Hey, we gotta report something.)

We'll also be at the Theodore J. Levin Federal Court House when the Jury comes back with a verdict.  Keep an eye on the blog page for the latest.
