2 wounded in Chicago Lawn shooting

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two people were shot Tuesday evening in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The man and woman were shot at 5:39 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 64th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the back and side and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, fire officials said. A 31-year-old woman was shot in the arm and abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Both were listed in "stable" condition, fire officials said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
