Trooper hurt, 3 others hospitalized in Wheaton crash

WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An Illinois State Police trooper was one of four people hospitalized from a crash in the west suburbs Thursday morning.

The crash happened about 7:45 a.m. at Geneva Road and Gary Avenue in Wheaton, State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said.

A female State Police Elgin District trooper in a squad car was involved in the crash, Bond said.

The trooper and three other people were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Bond said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation as of about 2:30 p.m., and State Police had no other information on the incident.
