A three-car crash on the West Side sent five people to the hospital Thursday night, fire officials said.
The crash occurred about 8:27 p.m. at the intersection of West Chicago and North LeClaire avenues in the Austin neighborhood.
Two adults and three children were taken to area hospitals, fire officials said.
A 35-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition, along with a 6-year-old boy in "stable" condition and a 5-year-old girl in good condition, officials said.
Another adult was taken to Loretto Hospital for treatment.
