NOGALES, Ariz. -

For the third time in about a week, border agents have arrested a woman trying to walk into southern Arizona with heroin duct-taped under their bra.

An 18-year-old female Mexican national was arrested at the Dennis DeConcini Port on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to smuggle about 3.5 pounds of heroin into the United States.

Customs and Border Protection officers gave Karen Ashley Cedano Rojas an additional inspection when she attempted to enter the U.S. through a pedestrian lane.

A CBP narcotics dog alerted officers there were drugs present and they say they found packages of about 3.4 pounds of heroin tucked underneath Rojas' clothing.

The heroin has an estimated value of $47,000.

Rojas was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

CBP officials say a 37-year-old woman from California was arrested earlier this week with eight pounds of heroin worth about $127,000 duct-taped under her bra.
On Feb. 21, an 18-year-old woman from Nogales, Sonora was arrested for trying to smuggle less than a pound of heroin in her bra.

CBP officials had no immediate comment on this seemingly growing trend of drug smuggling.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
