GLENDALE, Ariz. - Flags at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona are being flown at half-staff Monday in honor of an airman who died following physical training.

Officials say Master Sgt. Iordanis "Jordan" Velissariou was found unresponsive following physical training on Thursday.

Velissariou was transported to West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, where he was later pronounced dead.

The 40-year-old Velissariou was from Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He joined the Air Force in 1991.

At Luke, Velissariou was the fleet manager for vehicle maintenance in the 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

Base officials say the cause of death is under investigation.

The 71-year-old base has long been the training ground for F-16 pilots.
