3 children injured in Peoria car crash

Posted: Updated:
PEORIA, Ariz. -

A car slammed into a car full of children after running a red light at the intersection of 39th Avenue and Peoria Saturday morning.

Three children were in the car with their mom when the accident happened; a 10-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 6-year-old were taken to a hospital.

The 10-year-old was the most seriously hurt, but is in fair condition and expected to be okay.

The intersection was closed while police investigated, though police say it's almost certain, the accident was caused by a red light runner.

The other two children are also expected to be okay.
