PHILADELPHIA -

As Philadelphia police were responding to reports of a fight on the 700 block of Arch Street early Sunday morning, officers say a man fired a handgun a block away.

According to police, the man was seen by officers firing the handgun in the direction of 9th and Arch Streets shortly before 2 a.m. Police say the man was standing on the northeast corner of 8th and Arch streets when the shots were fired.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Police say the man got away. Investigators describe him as a black man, 6 feet tall with a beard. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with long blue sleeves and blue jeans.

Police believe the large crowd may have originated from a dispute inside of the Roar night club on the 700 block of Arch Street.

It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
