At the Thompson Center Friday morning, a couple dozen people gathered to protest the concealed carry ruling in Illinois; among them, Chicago native Garrett Evans.
Back in 2007, Evans was one of the students shot at Virginia Tech University.
The group wants Attorney General Lisa Madigan to overturn a federal ruling that found our state's concealed carry law unconstitutional.
Last month, following the ruling, Madigan said she hasn't decided whether she would appeal the decision.
