MACON, Ga. (AP) - Greenforest Christian scored the final 14 points to beat St. Francis 55-41 Saturday in the GHSA Class A boys private school state championship game.

Tosin Mehinti scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Eagles (27-4) to their first state championship.

St. Francis freshman Kobi Simmons scored 20 points, but 19 of those came in the first half.

The Knights (23-9) led by three points with five minutes to play, but Greenforest finished the game on an 18-1 run. The game was tied at 41 with 3:31 to play, but St. Francis didn't score again.

Greenforest's David Jones became the second coach to win state championships at three different schools. He previously won titles with Southwest Atlanta (1973, 1974, 1979) and Southside (1990). He also broke the state record for most years between championships, winning Saturday 23 years after his last at Southside.
