WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Three men were arrested Thursday afternoon, accused of robbing a boy near west suburban Clarendon Hills.
The three are accused of taking cash and property from a boy they had arranged to meet in a car in an unincorporated area near 55th Street and Route 83, authorities said.
They allegedly showed a handgun to the boy -- who was an acquaintance -- before robbing and releasing him about 4 p.m., authorities said. All three men were arrested a short time later.
Kelechukwu Akuba, 20, of the 300 block of East Daisy Circle in Romeoville; Leverenzel Booth, 18, of the 7500 block of Farmingdale Drive in Darien and Jerron Wilbut, 19, of the 16W600 block of Mockingbird Lane in Willowbrook each face one count of robbery, a Class 2 felony.
They were all ordered held on $100,000 bond following a hearing Friday morning, said Paul Darrah, spokesman for the DuPage County State's Attorney's office.
All three remain in DuPage County Jail Friday, and will next appear in court April 1 before Judge John Kinsella.
