SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Scottsdale Police have identified a woman whose body was found in a rain-swollen wash Saturday afternoon.

Police say the woman is 38-year-old Nicky Yuen. She lived at a group home approximately one mile away from the wash.

She was reported missing Friday as the weather worsened.

Police were called to the wash around 4:30 p.m.

With all the rain Arizona has had, the wash is pretty flooded.

In the middle of all the water is where the body was discovered.

The area is just north of Chaparral, off Hayden Road.

Police say Yuen had a mental health condition and it was pretty common for her to take walks away from the where she was staying, but she typically did not take long walks.

There is a walking and biking path very close to where the body was found and a man who was in the area called 911 Saturday afternoon after spotting the woman.

"We had a passerby that saw what he thought was a mannequin floating in the water so he called us because he thought that was odd. So our officers responded. They realized that was not what it was, that is was a body," said Scottsdale Police Officer Dave Pubins.

Early Saturday night, workers from the medical examiner's office removed the body from the wash.

Exactly what kind of mental health condition Yuen had isn't clear, though police she was on medication.
