Michael Vick's Book Signings Canceled Due To Threats

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick's book-signing events have been canceled because of threats of violence.

That includes events in Exton, Pa., and Moorestown, N.J., later this month.

The decision to cancel came from Barnes & Noble, who said they couldn't knowingly put anyone in harm's way.

Vick was scheduled to promote his new book "Finally Free: An Autobiography."

The threats were reportedly made in reaction to Vick's involvement in a dog-fighting ring.

Vick served 18 months behind bars. But, since his release in 2009, he has worked with the Humane Society, speaking out against animal cruelty.

FOX 29 has confirmed with the Eagles that Vick's Saturday appearance at a store in Atlanta was also canceled by Barnes & Noble.
