For today's Put A Pin In It segment I featured some great St. Patrick's Day
Treats inspired by Pinterest...Lisa is here to help me because I know her
kids will absolutely love these green tasty creations!
We're making Green (Not So Deviled Eggs) and we're reinventing ways to use
Lucky Charms
Green (Not So Deviled Eggs)
This is my twist on the traditional deviled egg. Not only is the finished
product a vibrant lime green but it's also completely guilt free!
What you'll need: Eggs, Avocado, Classic Hummus, Lemon, Salt, Pepper, and
Chives or Jalepeno (optional)
- Hard Boil and peel eggs. Remove and discard yolks.
- In a mixing bowl mash 2 to 3 avocados, a hearty scoop of hummus for that
creamy texture and squeeze half of a lemon to taste. Don't forget to salt and
pepper!
- Place contents into a ziplock bag. Cut the tip and squeeze the green
mixture into a pretty shape in your egg.
- Garnish with finely sliced green onion or jalepanos or both!
Everyone's After Me Lucky Charms Treat Balls
This is rice krispy treats reinvented and shaped in those every so trendy
treat pops. They're magically delicious
What you'll need: Box of Lucky Charms, Bag of marshmallows, 1/2 stick of
butter, popsicle sticks
- You know the drill. Melt the butter, add marshmallows and fold in cereal.
- Place in bowl to cool. When the are still warm but not hot (the timing
here is crucial) roll into balls.
- **In order to keep them from sticking to your hands. Rub a butter onto
your hands before rolling. Sounds kind of weird but it works!**
- Pop in the sticks and let cool.
If you don't have time for all that..you can have a lot of fun with just a
little bit of food coloring. Add a drop or two of green food coloring to milk
and your kids will love it! I served it in the green o-Bowl which is super cool
because you can regulate how much milk goes into your cereal! No more soggy
Lucky Charms!!
