PHOENIX -

A lot of folks are taking advantage of the nice weather and going on hikes, but one downside is the amount of mountain rescues over the past few weeks.

He had head injuries and a number of fractures from the fall.

Rescue crews put the victim on a board, hooked him up to a long line and flew him to safety.

We took a look at the training valley firefighters do to prepare for mountain rescues.

Plus, FOX 10's Kristin Anderson learns how to stay safe while hiking in the heat.
