Drivers can expect long delays at the top of the perimeter this weekend as the Interstate 285 resurfacing project continues.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, several ramps will be closed, one at a time, in the I-285/I-75 interchange beginning Friday night. Detours will be in place for each ramp while they are closed.
The schedule is as follows, according to GDOT:
Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday: the ramp from I-285 eastbound to I-75 northbound and southbound will be closed and will likely remain closed through the night.
Next, the I-75 southbound loop ramp and the I-75 northbound ramp to the I-285 eastbound collector distributor will be closed. Official say that closure will likely be through most of Saturday.
Once those ramps are completed, the ramp from I-285 westbound to I-75 northbound will be closed. That will likely be through the night Saturday and into Sunday.
Motorists are urged to call 511 to find out which ramp is closed at a particular time during the weekend before traveling through the area.
