NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police on Long Island are investigating a single-car crash in Medford that left one man dead.

The crash happened about 1 a.m. on Express Drive South.

Suffolk County police say that Kyle Mueller of Farmingville was driving a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when he apparently lost control of the vehicle approximately 100 feet east of North Ocean Avenue.

The vehicle left the road, went through a guardrail and crashed into several trees.

Mueller, 21, of 26 Oakdale Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 631-854-8652.
