Winter Strikes Again in the Philadelphia Region

Posted: Updated:

Allentown residents were sure they saw at least a couple inches of snow on the ground by Monday evening, and most were not happy about it being just two days away from the start of spring.

"I don't need this kind of crap," said Jim Mertz.  He's a carpenter, and thought snow was a thing of the recent past.

"This is a huge disappointment.  I work outside and I'm just really looking forward to decent weather," he said.

Others did not mind it too much.  France Eisner let her two dogs play around in it while she thought positive.

"We'll deal with it.  It won't be here too long.  Usually in the spring it goes pretty quickly," she said.

The snow made for hard-to-see roads across Lehigh County with traffic moving slow at times. FOX29 cameras saw crews working hard at Lehigh Valley International Airport to make sure planes could enter and exit without issue. Only one departing flight was delayed by mid-evening.

It was a soupy start today. We can expect many clouds, some sun, lots of humidity, and a chance of pop up showers any time. At least it'll be warmer: High around 80-degrees today.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. Warm temps stick around, too. And we do mean stick...because it'll be humid, too.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
