The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning travelers that traffic is backed up for miles along Interstate 10 south of Phoenix due to a serious crash.
The department says the crash, which happened Saturday morning, has limited westbound travel on the interstate to a single lane near Riggs Road.
Both directions of I-10 are backed up.
Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, which occurred just before 11 a.m. at milepost 166. The extent of the victim's injuries are not known.
Transportation department spokesman Garin Groff said drivers should consider alternate routes until the crash is cleared.
