Police records in Vanecko, Koschman case mysteriously found

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Some missing police documents in the Richard Vanecko case have mysteriously reappeared.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the police records were missing for six months before a police commander found them on the top shelf of a filing cabinet at police headquarters at Belmont and Western.

Vanecko is the nephew of former mayor Richard M. Daley.

He is facing manslaughter charges in the 2004 death of David Koschman, who died in a drunken confrontation outside a Division Street bar.

The paper said the missing records include a handwritten note that seems to acknowledge that Vanecko is a Daley relative.
