But Guzman's arrest is raising some serious questions. One of which, is this the real El Chapo? The other is how were police able to arrest him without a single shot being fired. We talked with a filmmaker whose new document hopes to answer some of those questions.

PHOENIX -

An 88-year-old valley woman who needed a contractor did her due diligence and still got ripped off.

This homeowner did her homework and checked the roofer out. Later, he conned her out of a thousand dollars, then conned her insurance company out of $8,000 more.

But this story has a happy ending. Her roof is almost finished, and it's been a long time coming.

"Started leaking probably 6 months after he got through," says Mary Hartnett.

Mary Hartnett couldn't believe she had been duped more than 18 months ago. When her roof first started leaking, she called roofers for help.

"I checked on him and they said yes he had a license and gave me his license number. There were no complaints against him," she says.

Mary did her homework, but later discovered the man she hired did a shoddy job because he wasn't a roofer at all.

In fact, the conman stole the identity of another man who has the same name and then passed himself off as the legitimate roofer.

"Someone misrepresented that they were a licensed contractor. They performed substandard work," says Duane Yourko, of AZ Roofing Contractors Association. "There was nothing that met code, we had to tear it all up and start anew."

The roof cost Mary a $1,000 deductible. She says the insurance company footed a $9,000 bill. She doesn't think she'll get any money back.

But now, she is grateful for the five companies like Inca Roofing who are helping her for absolutely free.

"One tore it off, one removes the product, one provided new material, another one is installing it. Everyone kind of chipped in when they heard of her plight," says Yourko.

"It's great, wonderful, they're just doing a fantastic job," says Mary.

Maricopa County is investigating the case.
