ATLANTA -

Former Georgia congressman Bob Barr announced that he's running again for a seat in the U.S. House on Thursday.

Barr made the announcement at Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna. He is running for the 11th District seat now held by republican Phil Gingrey. Gingrey is giving up that seat to run for the U.S. Senate next year.

Barr is the first person to join the race for the 11th District seat.
