Father Of Woman Charged In Assault Doesn't Believe The Charges

CAPE MAY COUNTY, N.J. -

The father of a woman accused of assaulting a teenager in a wooded area of Cape May County says he doesn't believe the charges.

Eighteen-year-old Brittany Hearon was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Seven others who are minors, according to police, are accused of sexually assaulting and attacking the victim. Three of the teenage suspects were sent to a juvenile detention center while the others were released to their parents.

The attack happened in a wooded area of Lower Township known as "Rutherford Tract."

Hearon was released on her own recognizance.
