Whitemarsh Township Police Warn Of Transient Activity

Posted: Updated:

Whitemarsh Township Police are warning their residents to be on the lookout for transients.

The township states that they have seen an influx of transients, described as, "roaming thieves who prey on the uninformed and unsuspecting residents, particularly (but not always exclusively) the elderly."

These criminals sometimes pose as handymen or contractors who want to perform work on your house or property.  They approach the homeowner or resident and try to make a deal using a clever sales pitch.

If you think you have been scammed or were approached by one of these "transients", you are encouraged to contact police at (610) 825-3535.
