LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. -

Police in Lancaster County have identified the pilot killed in a plane crash Saturday as a 30-year-old Gap, Pennsylvania man.

According to Lancaster police, Michael Blank was killed when his plane crashed at the Smoketown Airport just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say Blank was flying alone at the time of the crash. Blank was taking off from the airport, which is a few miles east of Lancaster, when the plane crashed into a mobile home and bust into flames. officials said.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash.

Firefighters say they found heavy smoke and flames when they arrived on scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating the crash.
