Louisville guard Kevin Ware is up and walking on crutches after breaking his right leg during the Midwest Regional Final Sunday.

Ware is recovering from a two-hour surgery to reset the bone and insert a rod in his leg.

He is not in any physical pain, and Cardinals Coach Rick Pitino says his spirits are starting to heal, too.

Photos handed out Monday by the University Of Louisville show Ware on crutches and Pitino with him at the hospital.

Ware broke his leg in two places after falling during Louisville's game against Duke.

His teammates openly weeping as he was carried off the court on a stretcher.

The Cardinals beat Duke 85-63 to reach their second straight Final Four.

Pitino says ware will be with his team on the bench when they play Wednesday in Ware's hometown of Atlanta.
