New gear for Tigers fans

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit Tigers Retail Director, Janine Kurpiel talks with Jason Carr about the newest Tigers gear for this season. Check out some of the looks, including fitted hats, "bling" T-shirts and Paws merchandise.

"Paws is really happy this year because I have a lot of themed merchandise," said Krupiel. Paws gear includes a backpack, hat, mug, and T-shirt that says, "Paws is my Wingman" (not in video). For fans who like a bigger statement, try the all-in-one Paws hat with attached mittens.

Jerseys: New jerseys include a 1984 jersey with Fielder's name on it and a white Hunter jersey. There is also a Hunter name and number T-shirt.

Hats and caps: Brand new batting hats are available for purchase, the same kind that a lot of the Tigers have been wearing during Spring training. For fans who like showing off their headwear, check out the variety of fitted caps and knitted hats with the "D" logo.

T-shirts: There is a new shirt this year, just revealed from the vault. The T-shirt is only exclusive at the Comerica Park "D" shop. Watch the video to find out more.

Avid Tigers fans know that merchandise shows off a handful of unique Tigers logos. According to Kurpiel, the different logos are an effort to keep things fresh. Some of the logos include the jersey "D", the hat "D", the circle logo and the Tiger jumping through the "D". The corner store and the "D" shop both sell gear for men, ladies, babies, toddlers, juvenile and youth, available in various sizes for any Tigers fan. The opening day pin this year is limited edition and only 600 remain. Fans can purchase the pin at the 'D' shop for $10.

Stores are open this week from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and on opening day at 9 a.m.

Opening day for the Detroit Tigers is Friday, April 5 in the "D". Fox 2 will provide all day coverage.
