CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. -

A New Jersey teenager who nearly lost her life during a driving lesson thanked her doctors at Cooper University Hospital Wednesday by giving them a check for $3,000.

Last summer, Alyssa Lesher and her driving instructor were on Route 70 when she was hit by a car that crossed into her lane. The driver of the car that hit her died.

Lesher says she raised the money by starting a distracted driving campaign. She says she came up with the idea while recovering in the hospital.
