Police Investigate Reports Of Woman Pointing Rifle At Students

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

This morning, three schools in Philadelphia were put on lockdown while police investigated a report that a rifle was pulled on four students.

The students, who are all around age 10, were on their way to Feltonville school.  The students told investigators that there was some sort of incident involving a dog.  Then, a woman came out of her house and pointed a rifle towards them.

The principal initiated a lockdown, FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reported.

The exact nature of the altercation is still under investigation.

Police, including a SWAT team, were called to Ella Street for what was declared a "barricade situation" and surrounded the home shortly after 10 a.m.

The lockdowns and barricade situation ended at 11:20 a.m.

Police searched for the home for the suspect, but no one was found.

We're awaiting more information on the outcome of the police investigation.
