Gunfire erupted between a robbery suspect and police overnight in Cobbs Creek.

Police say the 30-year-old suspect had just robbed a 7-Eleven at gunpoint in the area of 57th Street and Whitby Avenue.

When an officer went to question him, police say the 20-year-old man fired two shots, missing the officer.

Police say the officer fired back, hitting the suspect once in the leg.

He was still able to run away, but was eventually tracked down and arrested.

Police are still searching for another man involved in the robbery.
