Atlanta police ready for big weekend

Atlanta police are keeping a close eye on the city, as nearly a 100,000 people are expected in and around downtown each day over the weekend.

Authorities say that safety is a top priority during Final Four festivities.

Major Joe Spillane of the Atlanta Police Department said that officers from the APD, the Georgia State Patrol and the World Congress Center Police Department will all be fully staffed to make sure city around the city is safe.

More than 1,300 cameras are positioned throughout the city to help police isolate a problem.

Spillane said that police will monitor social media to learn about potential trouble spots.
