CDC study: Americans skipping prescription meds to save money

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

With many people tightening their wallets in light of today's economy, a new government study finds that Americans are skipping their prescriptions to save money.

The study conducted by the CDC says adults 18 to 64 were twice as likely to not have taken medication as prescribed to save money compared with adults aged 65 and over.

The study also found that adults who were poor were twice as likely as adults who were not poor to not take their medication as prescribed.
