LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

There was flooding Thursday evening at the intersection of Wilson and Leblanc in Lincoln Park.  The good news is none of the houses in that area flooded, but restoration crews say they have been busy.

"It appears that the drain system cannot handle the amount of water that's been delivered by Mother Nature," said Mark Beydoun from Paul Davis Emergency Services.  "Today we've had about 15 floods already.  Calls keep coming in."

"We're seeing about six to eight inches of water in just about every house that we walk into."

Most of the people who live on Leblanc near the flooding say when they saw the water, they were worried there would be flooding in their basements.  This time they know they're lucky.

"When I saw the flooding on the street, I was really worried I was going to come home to a flooded basement again because it has happened before, and it costs a lot of money in damages," said Joe Salisbury.

If you live on a street where there is flooding along the roadway, it is important to park in your driveway.  That way emergency vehicles can get through, if necessary.
