"I was shocked. You feel like you live in a safe neighborhood and things like this don't happen to you," said Dana Ott. She got somewhat of a reality check when she opened up a crime alert email Thursday from the Radnor Township Police Department.
"You don't want your mind to go to the worst possible place but it certainly does in light of what's happened recently," said Ott. She thought of her children, daughter Molly and son Ethan playing outside as she read about what happened.
Staff at Saint Katharine's school near the Ott's house called police Thursday to take a late report from a 10-year old girl. The student said on Monday she saw a man sitting in a van in the church parking lot across the street. She said he was taking pictures of children in the courtyard. And that's not all. Police say while they were taking that report, a 7-year old boy came into the school around 8:30 and told them he had just seen a man wearing a ski mask sitting in a van in the church parking lot.
"That's very bizarre," said Susan Diebold whose daughter doesn't go to Saint Katharine's but they live across the street. She's definitely concerned.
"I'm surprised and concerned because there are many children who walk to school through this neighborhood everyday. My daughter is one of them," Diebold said.
Police don't think the incidents are related. There are two different men they are looking for.
The suspect from Monday was in a white Ford Econoline van with ladder racks but no ladder and security bars on the back window. He may be in his 20's with light brown spiky hair and was wearing sunglasses at the time. The suspect from Thursday's incident was sitting in a light blue van.
