TEMPE, Ariz. -

Residents of six units were displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment complex near Broadway and McClintock.

40 firefighters from Tempe and Mesa battled the fire at the Haven Luxury Apartments Thursday night. It started on the first floor.

In the end, six units sustained smoke and water damage. No one was hurt.

"Firemen got here, knocked the door down... started getting crazy, flames were shooting out the windows, out the roof, firemen crawled out on their hands and knees. Kind of traumatizing," said resident Joseph Edmonds.

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.

FOX 10's Kelly Hessedal reports.
