Residents in the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta were without power after a falling tree brought down power lines on Friday.
Authorities say the tree brought down the lines across Middlesex Avenue. It toppled utility poles and damaged some cars, crushing at least one vehicle. Luckily no homes were damaged, and no one was injured.
Crews are on the scene to clear the debris and to restore power.
According to Georgia Power, by Friday morning 4,700 customers were without power. Crews have been able to work quickly, and by 11 a.m. only 475 customers throughout the state remained without power.
